Understand the decision
Ask for an itemised plan covering consultations, monitoring, laboratory work and medicines. Identify what is included in the quoted cycle and what happens if it is cancelled or changed. Compare clinics using the same definition of a cycle.
Put it into practice
Add travel, accommodation, storage, time off and any later transfer costs relevant to your plan. Ask which charges are refundable and when payments become due. Keep optional add-ons separate. A clear estimate should let you understand the financial commitment without having to make assumptions about the next stage.
Keep the bigger picture in view
Write down the questions that matter to your family before comparing clinics. Medical suitability, treatment eligibility, donor information and future access to records are separate issues; ask who is responsible for answering each one.
Before making a commitment, take the written proposal to a qualified clinician who can assess your own circumstances. Use the questions below to record answers and identify anything still unresolved. Keep the plan, contact details and agreed next steps together so you can revisit the decision without relying on memory.
Questions to take with you
- What does the quoted cycle include?
- How are cancelled cycles charged?
- Which later costs should I plan for?
