Understand the decision
A pregnancy rate and a live-birth rate measure different things. Clinic figures can also describe different age groups, diagnoses and treatment stages. Ask for the rate relevant to people with circumstances like yours and how that rate is calculated.
Put it into practice
Request the reporting year and whether results have been independently checked. Do not assume a higher percentage means a better clinic without understanding the patient mix. Ask your clinician to explain the uncertainty around an individual prediction. A statistic is a starting point for discussion, not a guarantee about one cycle.
Keep the bigger picture in view
Write down the questions that matter to your family before comparing clinics. Medical suitability, treatment eligibility, donor information and future access to records are separate issues; ask who is responsible for answering each one.
