Understand the decision
Rehabilitation is central to lengthening care. Ask who will provide physiotherapy, how often you will be reviewed and how the team adapts the plan. A generic exercise sheet does not explain the support available during a prolonged process.
Put it into practice
Discuss the practical details of attending sessions while your mobility is limited. Identify the therapist, location, communication route and fees. Ask how the surgeon and therapist share concerns. Before travelling, compare the plan with what can be continued near home so there is no unexplained gap in care.
Keep the bigger picture in view
Cosmetic stature lengthening is a major orthopaedic undertaking. A decision needs an individual assessment of physical health, expectations and the support available over a prolonged recovery. A promised height gain cannot substitute for that assessment.
Before making a commitment, take the written proposal to a qualified clinician who can assess your own circumstances. Use the questions below to record answers and identify anything still unresolved. Keep the plan, contact details and agreed next steps together so you can revisit the decision without relying on memory.
Questions to take with you
- Who supervises rehabilitation?
- How do the surgeon and therapist communicate?
- What happens if I cannot complete a planned session?
