Understand the decision

Before travelling, ask for an example of the written instructions you will receive after treatment. You need to know how the team will explain washing, sleeping, activity and contact with the treated area. Your own instructions should reflect the procedure actually performed.

Put it into practice

Arrange practical help if needed and discuss travel timing with the clinician. Keep the emergency contact easy to find without searching through promotional messages. Ask what photographs can help a remote discussion and which concerns require examination. Follow the treating team’s plan rather than copying a stranger’s recovery schedule from social media.

Keep the bigger picture in view

A hair restoration consultation should start with a diagnosis and a long-term plan. Ask the clinician to document your baseline, the proposed approach and the alternatives you discussed, including the option of waiting.

Before making a commitment, take the written proposal to a qualified clinician who can assess your own circumstances. Use the questions below to record answers and identify anything still unresolved. Keep the plan, contact details and agreed next steps together so you can revisit the decision without relying on memory.

Questions to take with you

  1. Who explains my care instructions?
  2. How is my travel readiness assessed?
  3. Which concerns should prompt a same-day call?
