Understand the decision
A transplant does not remove the need to understand ongoing hair loss. Ask how the proposed design fits a long-term strategy and whether other options should be discussed with a dermatologist. Do not start, stop or combine medicines based on a package recommendation alone.
Put it into practice
Create a follow-up plan that can continue after you leave the destination. Ask when the clinician would reassess the approach and what signs would prompt an earlier appointment. Keep copies of the graft record and baseline photographs. A useful plan explains future decisions as clearly as the immediate procedure.
Keep the bigger picture in view
A hair restoration consultation should start with a diagnosis and a long-term plan. Ask the clinician to document your baseline, the proposed approach and the alternatives you discussed, including the option of waiting.
Before making a commitment, take the written proposal to a qualified clinician who can assess your own circumstances. Use the questions below to record answers and identify anything still unresolved. Keep the plan, contact details and agreed next steps together so you can revisit the decision without relying on memory.
Questions to take with you
- How does surgery fit a long-term plan?
- Who will reassess ongoing hair loss?
- What records should I keep for future consultations?
