Understand the decision

Different lengthening approaches use different devices. Ask the surgeon to explain the proposed system, why it suits your anatomy and how it affects daily care. Request the official patient information for the exact device rather than relying on an animation from a booking agent.

Put it into practice

Discuss follow-up, permitted activity and what happens if a device problem occurs. Ask about the team’s experience with the system and access to support after you leave. Keep the device details with your medical records. A newer or more expensive product name does not explain the overall quality of care.

Keep the bigger picture in view

Cosmetic stature lengthening is a major orthopaedic undertaking. A decision needs an individual assessment of physical health, expectations and the support available over a prolonged recovery. A promised height gain cannot substitute for that assessment.

Before making a commitment, take the written proposal to a qualified clinician who can assess your own circumstances. Use the questions below to record answers and identify anything still unresolved. Keep the plan, contact details and agreed next steps together so you can revisit the decision without relying on memory.

Questions to take with you

  1. Why is this device appropriate for me?
  2. What daily care does it require?
  3. How are device problems handled?
