Understand the decision
A transplant redistributes available hair. Ask the surgeon to explain the proposed donor area and show how it has been assessed. A large graft number may sound impressive, but it does not explain where those grafts will come from or how the donor area will look.
Put it into practice
Request a drawing of the proposed distribution and discuss priorities if the plan changes. Ask how possible future hair loss is considered. Keep baseline photographs taken in ordinary lighting. Comparing those images later is more useful than relying on a single tightly cropped promotional photograph.
Keep the bigger picture in view
A hair restoration consultation should start with a diagnosis and a long-term plan. Ask the clinician to document your baseline, the proposed approach and the alternatives you discussed, including the option of waiting.
